Dalaguete is one of the towns located in the southern part of Cebu. It is home to the mountain barangay that was dubbed as the “Little Baguio of Cebu” and the “Summer Capital of Cebu.” Mantalongon is also called the “Vegetable Basket of Cebu” since it is one of the major sources of vegetables of the province. Mantalongon is also one of the routes hikers take to reach Osmeña Peak.
The bibingka is a rice cake that is unique to the Philippines. While it is typically associated with the nine-day Simbang Gabi novena masses in Christmas, they are actually available all-year-round. They are cooked using clay pots and are usually one of the favorite breakfast items during the holidays.
You can reach Dalaguete by getting on a bus headed for town at the Cebu South Bus Terminal. Just make sure to tell the driver or conductor to drop you off at the town center. If you want to take a trip to Mantalongon, you can ride on a motorcycle for hire to bring you to this mountain barangay.
