The Kandaya Resort was named to pay homage to an ancient tribal chieftain who protected Daanbantayan, which was formerly known as Kandaya. Datu Daya led the first Malayan settlers in the northern part of Cebu. The name Kandaya means “kang Daya” or Daya’s place.
The Kusina Restaurant of the Kandaya Resort offers a good mix of Asian and Western dishes. The resort practices a farm-to-table concept where they use freshly-picked organic ingredients from its in-house garden. The plants at the Hardin ni Milagros are selected by the Chef and culinary team of the resort to ensure the crops planted are used on the dishes offered by the restaurant. In addition to the in-house garden, the resort also sources out its fruits and other produce from local farmers as part of its aim of supporting the local community.
The Daya Spa gives guests a chance to reinvigorate their tired muscles with the help of skilled masseurs and masseuses. The spa uses a good combination of essential oils, aromas and spices to revitalize their senses. The resort offers a wide selection of massages, facial treatments and body treatments to heal the mind, body and spirit of their guests. The gym of the Kandaya Resort features top-of-the-line cardiovascular and strength training equipment. It offers a friendly atmosphere for guests who want to work out during their stay at the resort.
The Kuwadra Stables of the resort allows guests to go horseback riding. The stable is managed by a British Horse Society Instructor with over four decades of experience in teaching and training both horses and riders. The resort has a number of well-trained horses for its adult guests as well as ponies of the children. The riding arena of the resort has a 2,400 square meter area. Guests can also opt to go trail riding along the beach or the coconut plantation.
The resort also has facilities for mixed martial arts training for its guests who want to sweat it out in an active workout routine. Guests can also enjoy the sea through the watersports activities offered by the Kandaya Resort. They can go snorkeling, kayaking or simply go for a dip at the clear blue waters of the beach.
