The Peanut Browas of Lola Pureza are peanut-flavored bite-size delicacies that were conceptualized over three decades ago. They were the brainchild of Danny Gonzales. Danny said he invented the delicacy in 1984 when the market experienced a flour shortage. He said his father told him to create a new product that did not use much flour.
Danny said he decided to make bite-sized pieces of the delicacy since bigger sizes have the tendency to become soft at a shorter period of time. Bite-sized pieces ensure the delicacy will retain its crunchiness. The Peanut Browas continues to be among the popular home-made delicacies of Cebu since the 1980s. This continued popularity is mainly due to the consistency of the taste and quality of the product.
The delicacy lives up to its name with its rich peanut flavor that tickles the taste buds. Each bite-size piece of the Peanut Browas is as scrumptious as the next and leaves one wanting for more. It is no wonder once a pack of this delectable delicacy is opened it only takes a few minutes before everything is consumed.
The smallest box of Peanut Browas has a suggested retail price of PHP 50 while the biggest box cost PHP 140. When was the last time you had a taste of Old Cebu with the Peanut Browas? Tell us about it on the comments section below.
