The beaches in Cebu are considered among the best in the world. While a good number of local and foreign tourists would immediately look for beaches close to the city, there are actually a number of other excellent beaches located in towns outside the city.

Here is another list of five beaches that can rival the best in the world.

Lambug Beach

The Municipality of Badian may be known for the most famous falls in the island, but the town actually has a number of other places to offer. One of these places is the Lambug Beach. The Lambug Beach is a relatively-undiscovered beach located in Barangay Lambug, Badian. While the white sand beach at the place is not as fine as some of the beaches in the island, it is soothing enough to go barefoot while walking.

Some resorts and small stores have opened in the area, but commercial activity is rather limited. If you intend to stay the night, you can either rent a room at these resorts or pitch a tent on the beach itself. You can get to Lambug Beach by riding on a bus headed towards Badian and get off at the drop off point for the beach. From here, you can ride a tricycle going to the beach.

Matutinao Beach

Another place you can visit in Badian is the Matutinao Beach. The beach is actually located at the drop off point going to Kawasan Falls. It also serves as the starting point for people participating in the canyoneering activity between Badian and Alegria. It is a good place to stay in if you are not keen on mixing it up with the crowds at the falls. The resort also has a discount for people joining the canyoneering activity through one of the groups facilitating it.

While the accommodations at the resort are rather basic, it is suitable enough for people who simply want to spend the weekend away from the city. The resort also offers reasonably-priced food items. You also have the option of buying food at the eateries outside the resort.

San Remigio Public Beach

San Remigio has the longest coastline in the entire island of Cebu. The coastline of the town stretches for several kilometers. The beach also features powdery white sand and crystal clear waters. While there are a number of resorts offering accommodations to visitors, you have the option of going to the public beach if you are not keen on spending too much while enjoying your weekend at the beach.

Aside from the beach, you may also be interested in scuba diving since the town has a marine sanctuary and a number of dive sites. You can get to San Remigio by getting on a bus headed for Hagnaya at the Cebu North Bus Terminal. You can get off at San Remigio since the bus passes through the town. The trip to San Remigio takes around three hours depending on the traffic.

Kandaya Resort is a relatively-new resort located in the northern town of Daanbantayan. Named after a tribal chieftain who used to rule the place, the resort offers all the amenities visitors look for in a high-end resort.

There are a number of resorts in the area if you are planning to spend the night at the place. Since you are already in Dalaguete, you may also want to make a side trip to Sergio’s Farm and pick some strawberries. Just make sure you are at the farm on Saturday and Sunday between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. You can get to Dalaguete by getting on a bus bound for the town. Just tell the driver to let you off at the beach.
