Grilling is a cooking method where food is cooked using dry heat. The heat is normally applied above and below the food. It uses a considerable amount of heat and is the cooking method used to cook meat fast. Grilling and barbecue are similar in a sense that they both use dry heat in cooking. The main difference is that grilling uses direct heat at high temperatures while barbecue is slowly cooking the meat with low temperatures. Grilling is usually associated with outdoor parties and get-togethers. Cebu is home to a huge number of places offering grilled and barbecued food items. In fact, nearly every area in the Queen City of the South has at least one stall selling barbecue. Another place has been added to this list, the Eskina Sizzling and Grill. But Eskina Sizzling and Grill is not limited to offering grilled or barbecued meat, it also offers sizzling dishes. The Eskina Sizzling and Grill is located along H. Joaquino Street in Mabolo, Cebu City. It is just a few blocks away from the Mabolo Church. It opened on August 22, 2014 and offers a good selection of sizzling and grilled food items. The specialties of the place include Chicharon Bulaklak, Ho Lee Round or Calamares, Iskinny or Chicken Skin, and Scallop el Bivalves or Baked Scallops. The Eskina Sizzling and Grill also offers Steamed Fish, Pork Barbecue and Gambas. Since the place also offers sizzling dishes, the menu also includes the SquiddieBabe or Sizzling Squid, DaddyDoo’s Sisig or simply Sizzing Sisig, In addition, the place also offers “silog” dishes, including Tapsilog, Porksilog, Bangsilog and Wingsilog. Soups are also available at the Eskina Sizzling and Grill, including Pork, Fish or Shrimp Sinigang and Tinolang Isda. The place also offers something not normally found on the menu of these types of eating places, Pizza. The Eskina Sizzling and Grill is a good place for anyone looking for grilled or sizzling dishes for lunch or dinner. If you are going to the place with your friends, you may be interested in the Boodle Bundle of the place. For friends hoping to hang out after work over a bottle of beer, you can also get their nacho platter as “pulutan” or appetizer. Barbecued or grilled food has become a part of the culture of Cebuanos and Filipinos as a whole. This is shown through the presence of numerous places offering these types of food in and around the city. The Eskina Sizzling and Grill is one of the newer places where locals and visitors can get delectable grilled food at a reasonable price.
