The Coal Mountain Resort is a mountain resort located in Barangay Linut-od, Argao. The resort sits on top of a network of tunnels that were once used for coal mining. It is a perfect place where you can spend a relaxing weekend away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The location was once the grazing ground of carabaos owned by the Caminero family. In 2005, a rest house for the family was built in the area. As the family grew bigger, the former hut was expanded to accommodate all the members of the family. But, the family decided to convert their rest house into a resort since some friends found the place relaxing when they visited it. The family decided to call the place Coal Mountain Resort in honor of the residents of the area who used to be coal miners.
The Coal Mountain Resort features three swimming pools that source their water from a mountain spring. The heart-shaped pool of the resort is designed for adult guests while the kidney-shaped pool is meant for the children of the guests. The resort also features a 16-foot diving pool where guests can test their diving skills. Carabao sculptures around the pool also show a part of the history of the place.
The Coal Mountain Resort offers seven types of accommodations. The Kubo with one twin bed for three persons at PHP1,000. The Safety room has two twin beds good for four persons at PHP1,000. The Foreman room with two twin beds and comfort room for four persons at PHP1,200.The Operator room with a common shared bed, comfort room and television showing local channels for six persons at PHP1,500. The Mucker room with a common shared bed, comfort room and television showing local channels for six persons at PHP1,500. The Miner room with two twin beds, comfort room and cable television for four persons at PHP1,500. The Capataz room with two twin beds, comfort room and cable television for four persons at PHP1,500.
The Coal Mountain Resort also offers transport services for its guests. The fee for the transport service depends on the pickup point and the number of people going to the resort. If the pickup point is from Cebu City, the one-way rate is between PHP150 to PHP300 depending on the number of people. But, if guests opt to pay for a round trip, it will cost between PHP300 to PHP500 depending on the number of people in the group. If the pickup is in Argao, a one way trip is between PHP90 and PHP200, depending on the number of people.
