The Bintana Coffee House is a hole-in-the-wall coffee shop located in a quiet neighborhood in uptown Cebu. The café gives guests the chance to escape from the stress of living in the city. The Bintana Café is both a coffee shop and a restaurant.

Melting Pot

Sarah Javier, owner of the café, wanted to make the place a melting pot of different things. She opened the café after she got interested in coffee. The young entrepreneur pored over articles, forums and videos about the brewed drink many Cebuanos love. Sarah was able to open the place with the help of her family.

Even as she had to deal with large commercial coffee chains and increasing popularity of Korean cafés, Sarah was not daunted by the competition. She opened the Bintana Coffee House along Elizabeth Pond Street on April 1, 2013.

Food and Drinks

The café offers a good selection of hot and cold drinks. One thing that sets it apart from many coffee shops in the city is the fact that they manually brew their coffee using freshly roasted beans. In addition, the Bintana Coffee House also has a wide range of food items on its menu. They offer light dishes, such as Macaroni Soup and Quarter Pound Cheeseburger, as well as rice meals, including the Fried Pork chop with Egg and Pork Sinigang. The café also has a number of desserts to satisfy the craving for sweets of its guests.

Homey Ambience

The Bintana Coffee House has a rather homey ambience unlike what one can feel in large coffee chains. The place can be considered as a place where artists can sit back and relax while having a cup of coffee. When the café had its grand opening in 2013, it featured some of the works of K Paler Rivera. Joshua Reganot and Ana Diores also performed during the opening.

The place is meant to be where artists and dreamers gather. They also hold exhibits for local artists looking for a venue to show off their work. Have you visited the Bintana Coffee House already? Tell us about it on the comments section below.
