The Bojo River Cruise in Aloguinsan is probably the most popular river cruise in the island of Cebu. The cruise takes guests on a tour along the Bojo River that is both fun and educational. But, there is also a river in the northern town of Cebu where local and international tourists can explore and have fun. The Dagusungan River in Medellin is another venue where visitors can commune with nature by going on a cruise on the river.

Dagusungan River

The Dagusungan River is one of the eco-tourism destinations of the town of Medellin. It is one place where you can marvel at the beauty of nature at its best. You can explore the river on a banca as you cruise along the waterway that snakes through the town. You will also get to see a mangrove forest on both banks of the river. In addition, you have the option of using a kayak in exploring the river.

You have two routes for the river cruise. The first route takes you from Barangay Caputatan Norte to Barangay Caputatan Sur while the second route takes you from Barangay Caputatan Norte to Barangay Poblacion.  The first route is nearly two kilometers long while the second route is nearly three kilometers. If you want to go on an adventure, you can also explore the mangrove forest surrounding the river.

Getting to Medellin

You can hop on a bus or van for hire headed for Kawit at the Cebu North Bus Terminal. Once you get to Kawit, you can ride on a motorcycle for hire or a tricycle to go to the jump-off point of the river cruise. Just tell the driver that you want to join the river cruise.

The Municipality of Medellin has been dubbed as the “Eco-Tourism Adventure Capital of Cebu” due to the different eco-tourism activities established by the local government.  These eco-tourism activities include the Dagusungan River cruise, which is gradually gaining popularity among local and international tourists.
