Bogo City was once a barangay of Daanbantayan before the coming of the Spaniards. While the residents of the barangay enjoyed self-rule, they still paid tribute to the chieftain of Daanbantayan. After the barangay prospered, it separated from Daanbantayan. Bogo has a number of tourist spots including Capitancillo Islet, Tugbungan Mangrove Eco-Farm, and the hanging bridge in Tabogon.
