The Kulabyaw Cave is one of the caves you can explore if you go up to the mountain barangay of Mantalongon. It is located close to the path going to Osmeña Peak. In fact some trekkers would pass by the cave on their way to the highest peak in Cebu. The main attractions of the Kulabyaw Cave are its nocturnal denizens. It is home to thousands of bats that fly in and out of the cave. These bats have attracted both first-time trekkers and experienced hikers who aim to reach the top of the Osmeña Peak.
Aside from the Osmeña Peak and Kulabyaw Cave, Dalaguete is also home to a number of other natural attractions. Many of these sites are situated in Barangay Mantalongon, including the Mag-alambak Forest and Kampakas Cave. The town also hosts some springs including the Obong Spring and the Gakub Spring. These natural attractions have contributed much to the increasing popularity of Dalaguete as an ecotourism destination.
Going to the Kulabyaw Cave requires you to ride on a bus headed for Dalaguete at the Cebu South Bus Terminal. Once you reach the town, you can hop on a motorcycle for hire to take you to the jump-off point going to the Osmeña Peak. If it is your first time to trek in the area, it is advisable to get the services of a guide.
