Checking Out The Cambuhawe Spring In Balamban

11/8/2017

Weekends in Cebu are typically spent lazing off at the beach or watching the city lights from the top of a mountain. There are also some instances when Cebuanos would go to the nearest swimming pool to cool off, especially during summer. In the western town of Balamban, residents normally spend their weekend at the Cambuhawe Spring.

Balamban

Balamban is town located on the western coast of Cebu and is known more for its shipbuilding industry. Aside from this industry, the town is also home to a number of eco-adventure resorts and the Buwakan ni Alejandria. In addition, Balamban also has a delicacy that has taken the Queen City of the South by storm, the Balamban Liempo.

Cambuhawe Spring

The Cambuhawe Spring is one of the tourist attractions of the town of Balamban. It features an Olympic-size swimming pool where locals typically spend their weekends cooling off. There are some cottages available at the place for rent. Since the water at the Cambuhawe Spring comes from a mountain spring, it is cold and clean.

But, recent visitors to the Cambuhawe Spring have indicated that the place has seen better days. While it may need a little more maintenance, the place still attracts crowds during weekends. Since the Cambuhawe Spring is also only open during weekends, it is best to go there on a weekend if you are planning to visit the place.

Getting to the Cambuhawe Spring

You can reach the Cambuhawe Spring by getting on a vehicle for hire headed for Balamban at the Ayala Center Cebu V-Hire and Jeepney Terminal. Tell the driver to let you off at Gaisano Balamban Mall. From the mall, you can ride a tricycle to the Cambuhawe Spring.

Cebu may have the best beaches in the world, but the island has more to offer to its residents and visitors. The Cambuhawe Spring is just one of the places where locals and visitors can cool off during the weekend.
