Another Hidden Eden In Badian - Lambug Beach

7/23/2016

Comments

Cebu has a number of relatively-undiscovered beaches where one can enjoy some down time from the stress of city life. One of the beaches is situated in the municipality of Badian. While the most famous tourist spot of this small town in the southwestern side of Cebu is the Kawasan Falls, it is also home to a number of exquisite white sand beaches, one of which is Lambug Beach.

Lambug Beach is located in Barangay Lambug and is slowly becoming popular for people looking for a place where they can spend the weekend in relative peace. The white sand beach f the place may not be as fine as the ones found in some of the more popular tourist spots in the archipelago, but it still feels soothing while walking on it sans shoes or sandals. The place has little commercial activity aside from some resorts and small stores that have opened to cater to the needs of visitors.

Accommodations

Even though Lambug Beach is not as popular as other beaches in the island of Cebu, there are a number of places where visitors can spend the night. Some of these resorts include Magic Beach Resort and Grandeur Beach Resort, among others. Room rates range from PHP 1,500 to PHP 3,500 for an overnight stay depending on the number of people staying in the room. For penny-pinchers, they can simply bring their own tents and pitch them on the beach.

Getting To Lambug Beach

It is necessary to hop on a bus plying the Cebu to Bato (via Barili) route to get to Lambug Beach in Badian. Just make sure to tell the driver or conductor to drop you off at the drop off point going to the beach. From here, you can ride a tricycle to the beach, which actually passes close to the Cebu International Golf and Dive Resort.

Things To Consider

Since the place is a way off the town proper, it is advisable to buy prior to going to the beach. While there are some stores in the area, they may not be selling some oft-overlooked essentials like shampoo, soap, toothbrush or toothpaste. Check the weather before going to the place since it may not be advisable to pitch a tent at the beach when the wind is strong . . . go figure.
